LG OLED55 C6 Review (UK): Still the All-Round OLED to Beat
Quick verdict
The LG C6 is the 2026 version of the TV we'd recommend to most people who want an OLED. What Hi-Fi? found the picture brighter, richer and more refined than last year's C5, the sound much improved, and the gaming features as good as it gets. The design is familiar and the speakers don't go very loud, but it's an easy five stars.

See the LG OLED55 C6 on Amazon UKThis review replaces our older LG C4 review. The C4 is a 2024 model and is now hard to find new, so we've moved to its current replacement, the 2026 C6. The 55-inch UK model is the OLED55C65LA. It uses LG's α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3, and LG lists its Brightness Booster for the 55-inch size.
Who is it for?
The C6 suits film and TV fans who want deep OLED blacks, and PS5, Xbox and PC gamers who want every modern gaming feature on all four HDMI ports. 55 inches suits most UK living rooms. If your room is very bright, or your budget is nearer £400, look at an LED TV like the Samsung Crystal UHD U8000H instead.

Picture quality
What Hi-Fi? tested the 65-inch C6 and called its picture brighter, richer and more refined than the C5's, and named it a What Hi-Fi? Awards 2026 winner. As with every OLED, each pixel makes its own light, so blacks are truly black and contrast is superb in a dim room. Dolby Vision is supported, but HDR10+ isn't, which matters a little for some Prime Video content.
Gaming
All four HDMI ports support 4K at 120Hz, so a PS5, an Xbox Series X and a gaming PC can all be plugged in at once. LG lists VRR up to 165Hz for PCs, plus G-Sync, FreeSync Premium, ALLM and HGiG. What Hi-Fi? described the gaming specs as awesome.
Smart features and sound
webOS 26 has all the main UK streaming apps, and LG promises up to five years of webOS upgrades. The C6 also works with AirPlay, Google Cast and Apple Home. What Hi-Fi? found the sound much improved on last year, but noted it doesn't go very loud. If you want cinema-level volume, add a soundbar through the eARC port.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Brighter, richer, more refined picture (What Hi-Fi?)
- Four 4K 120Hz HDMI ports
- VRR up to 165Hz, G-Sync and FreeSync
- Much-improved built-in sound
- webOS with up to 5 years of upgrades
Cons
- Familiar design
- Built-in sound doesn't go very loud
- No HDR10+
- Costs more than a discounted C5, when you can find one
UK price
The C6 is LG's newest mid-range OLED, so it costs more than the older C5 did at the end of its life. What Hi-Fi? suggests a heavily discounted C5 can be better value, but the 55-inch C5 showed as currently unavailable on Amazon UK when we checked on 19 October 2026. On 19 October 2026 the main Amazon UK offer was about £1,379 from a third-party seller (Tech Supply UK, dispatched by Amazon). Amazon's own offer on the same listing was about £1,399. Stock was low. Check the current price on Amazon UK before you buy.
Verdict
The LG OLED55 C6 is a superb all-rounder: a brighter, richer OLED picture, better sound than before and class-leading gaming features. It isn't cheap, and the design hasn't changed much, but for most people who want a premium 55-inch TV it's the one to get.
FAQs
Is the LG C6 good for PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. All four HDMI ports support 4K at 120Hz, with VRR, ALLM and HGiG, so it's one of the best TVs for current consoles.
What's the difference between the LG C6 and C4?
The C6 is the 2026 model and the C4 is from 2024. The C6 has LG's newer α11 Gen3 processor, VRR up to 165Hz instead of 144Hz and webOS 26, and What Hi-Fi? found its sound much improved on recent C-series models. The C4 is now hard to find new.
Does the LG C6 support HDR10+?
No. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG.
Where is the LG C6 sold on Amazon UK?
When we checked on 19 October 2026, the main offer was from a third-party seller, Tech Supply UK, and was dispatched by Amazon. Amazon's own offer was a little dearer. Check the seller before you buy.
